We recently received correspondence from the Society that the Atlanta Chapter has qualified for the CPD Excellence Award! This award recognizes the CPCU Chapters with at least 20 percent of their active membership (or 50 members if less than 20 percent) qualified for CPD  recognition. The award is based on the number of CPD qualified members in our chapter as of June 1, 2008.

Society Spotlights Champion at Crawford & Company
Bob Stevens, CPCU, is assistant vice president of Operational Compliance and a CPCU Society Champion at Crawford & Company. With the active support of CEO Jeffrey Bowman, Stevens is championing greater enrollment in the CPCU program, expanded internal mentoring of Crawford employees pursuing the CPCU designation, added Champions throughout the Crawford organization, and is pursuing new avenues of company support for professional development. Elizabeth Carter, an Atlanta Chapter CPCU Board Member, has just accepted a position as the co-chair of the Diversity Committee of the CPCU Society!  We wish her the best in her new pursuits!

The 8^th annual golf tournament was a huge success thanks to our 14 sponsors.  The tournament raised approximately $5,300 for the Learning for Life and the CPCU College Scholarship Fund charity.  We had a total of 95 golfers.  The weather was great and the tournament went off without a hitch.

I am pleased to announce that the Atlanta Chapter has received the 2008 CPCU Society Circle of Excellence.  Your chapter has qualified for the Gold level of recognition in this comprehensive program.  Congratulations!

Thank you for your dedication of time and talent this past year.  Please extend our congratulations to your leadership team and all chapter members who planned and participated in your many activities during the year.

The Atlanta Chapter will also be recognized at the Annual Meeting and Seminars in Philadelphia in a special Circle of Excellence display in the registration area and during the Circle of Excellence Recognition Luncheon.
